Aberlour A' bundadh colour is Amber +2, dark copper Nose : Neat: Cinnamon, Orange Rind, baked pastry, vanilla bean, pecans, mild grassiness. Very obvious Sherry flavors. With water: Sea salt, honey and Orange Marmalade. Cough drop, pie crust. 32/33 Body: Viscous, a bit heavier. Smooth, milky mouth-feel with average legs PalateNeat: Cinnamon Red Hots, heavy sherry and lots of burn, Apple skins, cotton. Bakery flavors behind the heat. Very pleasant. Ancho or Chipotle pepper. With Water: Ginger and Chinese hot mustard, tart apple. It is not as sweet with water. Some hints of capers, lemon zest. FinishNeat: Cinnamon is the dominant flavor. Antiseptic, Hot burn that lingers 20 seconds or more. Feel it between your teeth, then up your jawbone and into your ears. Mild bitterness and a spicy finish with peppercorn, apple, and nutmeg. It takes three sips to fully appreciate the flavors hidden by the high proof. It is well worth sticking around long enough to get past the alcohol and taste this. With Water: Less attack, but the flavor profile is diminished a bit. Baked apple pie, lots of spices, pepper, pecans, and Orange rind.
